Aims and functions of the DGM

The German Society for Music Psychology, founded in 1983 by Klaus-Ernst Behne, Günter Kleinen and Helga de la Motte-Haber, has set itself the goal of promoting and integrating research work in music psychology carried out by musicologists, psychologists and other specialists and making it accessible to the public. To this end, it organises conferences and international meetings and initiates and promotes the publication of relevant writings, including the “Jahrbuch Musikpsychologie” (Yearbook Music Psychology), which has been published since 1984. The DGM is a non-profit organisation.
